KD’s Revenge

Khadin Webb led all scorers with 23 points yesterday in the Wizard’s 37 to 36 win over the 76ers. The Wizards trailed the entire game and only took the lead with KD’s last bucket at the buzzer.

Karrod B

In the very first house league showdown of the season, the 76ers triumphed over the Celtics. Despite a valiant effort from the Celtics’ Karodd Brown, who showcased remarkable skill and determination, it wasn’t enough to secure a victory. The 76ers, led by the impressive performance of their star player JJ, demonstrated superior teamwork and strategy. The game was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both teams displaying exceptional talent and drive. The 76ers’ cohesive play and sharp shooting ultimately tipped the scales in their favor, leading to a well-deserved win. This victory not only showcased their prowess but also intensified the longstanding rivalry between these two iconic teams.

WMAR Spotlight

Randall Newsome, a reporter for WMAR’s News Channel 2, recently reported on the progress of the Bentalou Rec Coincil’s request to have a new center built. The Bentalou Rec Council, a non-profit organization, seeks to construct a new center that will serve as a hub for community activities and services. Newsome provided an update on the request’s status, which included interviews with Bentalou Community leaders and Volunteer Staff. He also provided insight into the significance of the planned center for the community, highlighting its potential impact on the area’s social and economic development. The story offers valuable information to residents of the Bentalou area and anyone interested in the progress of community development efforts in the Baltimore region.

Pretty Girls

On Thursday, March 2, 2023 instead of being able to hold practice, I had to hold a conflict resolution exercise because my young ladies had found reasons to be so mad at each other that they thought getting physical was the solution. After spending an hour and a half getting to the core of the anger they all agreed that there was never any real conflict but instead several breakdowns in communication. So as a reward to themselves, they came up with the idea for a Tik-Tok video to show how they are so much stronger when working together.

Celtics Win!

The Hornets moved out to an 8-point lead in the first half but weren’t able to sustain it.

Despite incredible efforts from Khalil Jenkins and Thaymar Sturdavant, Jr. the Hornets fell short to the Celtics 55-49.

ICE RAY

Raygen Henry (ICE), named 2022 Bentalou Most Improved Player yesterday, had her first (11) eleven-point night with five (2) point goals and (1) Free Throw despite the Wizards defeating the Knicks 21-19 on Monday night.

ICE RAY’s first double double…

And They Call Bamm

I am proud to say that Thaymar Sturdevant Jr, also known as “Bamm Bamm,” is the first player in our basketball league to achieve a triple-double. A triple-double is a rare and impressive feat in which a player accumulates double-digit numbers in three of the five statistical categories in a single game Bamm’s were points, assists, and rebounds. Bamm Bamm accomplished this feat with 32 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists, showcasing his versatility and skill as a basketball player.

Khalil Jenkins makes a spectacular pass to the cutting Thaymar Sturdavant,Jr. (BAMM) helping him produce our league’s first Triple Double of the season. Congrats Bamm.
